Ecard Making Software Found

Will this work? Maybe. Can it install? I hope so. This list is mostly for myself. Anyone finding it should use at their own risk, just as I will be doing.

Looking for free (or cheap and active) software for making and distributing ecards (digital files as postcards or greeting cards) on my site, with my own photographs and/ or art.

Facebook Game Notifications

Your Games on Facebook

I'd enjoy Facebook games if they gave you the option to automatically post notifications ONLY to your friends who also play the game. I know they could do this, if they chose to. When you look on the list to manage Facebook games it states how many of your friends play each game. If only one plays it puts up the name. So, they could for sure make it a LOT easier to deal with notifications about games. So far they just aren't doing so.

Microsoft just dropped support Windows 7

Microsoft just dropped support for the most popular version of Windows - Vox

Microsoft wants people to keep paying for new operating systems. This makes MS rich but creates a lot of garbage, literally. It is cheaper to upgrade your OS (operating system) with a new (second-hand or refurbished) computer than to buy the latest version of Windows software and then load it onto your computer. A lot of people seem to think they can't do this so they pay someone to upgrade the software for them. (You actually can DIY, it takes some time to wait for everything to load up but it really isn't all that complicated).

Anyway, the problem with Windows upgrades is really the money which people are not willing to spend. I don't blame them. However, this means the old and unsupported versions of Windows which are still running on a lot of computers are now vulnerable to attack. Without updates they don't have the new software to make them run and... they don't have patches for new viruses, worms and malware.

The real solution is for Windows to offer it's OS with upgrades continuing each time they change the version. Other software companies do this. If Windows supported their product with free upgrades there would not be so many vulnerable computers. It would also make Windows more reliable to run and less expensive. People could keep their older computers but may need to add hardware as Windows does take up a lot of space on the hard drive and may need a faster processor to keep things moving versus freezing.

Until MS (Microsoft) does this (and I doubt they ever will) people should smarten up and switch to Linux. It's free, which means the updates and new versions are also free. It's easy to use - at least as simple as Windows is. Really! You don't need to be a computer programmer to run Linux. But, you can save yourself a lot of money in hardware, software and computer services.
